The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have risen the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
